Brett Whiteside
Brett Whiteside was most recently the chief recruiting officer at the University of Missouri working for head coach Eliah Drinkwitz during the 2021 season. The two previously worked together at Auburn in 2010 & 2011. Whiteside oversaw recruiting and external responsibilities for the football program and had top recruiting classes in school history back to back years.
Prior to Missouri, Whiteside worked on the Auburn football staff 2013-2020. He served as Director of Recruiting Operations before being promoted to Director of Football Operations. In that role, Whiteside was responsible for budget oversight, team scheduling, organizing team travel and day-to-day operations. Whiteside served as the liaison to athletics administration, Tigers Unlimited, business office, compliance, media relations and University departments.
During his tenure at Auburn, the Tigers won the SEC West in 2013 and 2017. The 2013 season included an SEC Championship win and appearance in the BCS National Championship game. Prior to his time at Auburn, Whiteside was Director of Player Personnel at Arkansas State (2012) and a student recruiting and operations assistant at Auburn (2007-11).
Whiteside is a 2012 Arkansas State graduate. He earned his master’s degree in administration of higher education from Auburn in 2015 and Whiteside is on track to complete a PhD in administration of higher education, also from Auburn, in May 2023.
A Southside, Ala., native, Whiteside is married to the former Natalie Slaten, also an Auburn grad, and the couple has two sons, Davis and Kason.
