JJ Arminio

JJ Arminio joins the OTV Staff after several years of coaching Auburn’s Men’s Lacrosse Club. A Johns Creek, GA native, JJ followed in his mother’s and uncle’s footsteps to Auburn where he played lacrosse for the Tigers from 2005-2009. A graduate in the Kinesiology School, JJ went into lacrosse equipment sales and began coaching almost immediately following graduation.

After spending 3 years on the staff at Georgia Tech, JJ and his wife, Mary Tyler Arminio, relocated to Auburn and he soon took over the Men’s Lacrosse Club at Auburn University. Going into his 6th season as the Head Coach, the Tigers have had a winning record each of the years following a .500 campaign in his first year, including a shortened Covid year.

JJ and Mary Tyler have 3 sons: Van (7), Anderson (5), and Miller (2). When they’re not on the lacrosse field watching daddy coach, the Arminio’s can be found enjoying other Auburn sporting events on campus or just hanging out with friends.

“Coaching is a passion of mine and I feel like my background will help me connect with the athletes on a deeper level with OTV. The impact we as coaches can make on young people’s lives is important and I’m thankful that I can now do that with all athletes at Auburn. The Auburn Family is one of a kind and it’s been amazing seeing them step up to support ALL of our Student-Athletes.”
